We will have a limited number of starter hives available in late April - Early May of 2026! The total price for the nucleus colony is $250 - Purchasing this item is only deposit for the reservation and will be deducted from the total due at pickup. Deposits will only be refunded if we cannot provide a hive to you; deposits will not be refunded for changes of plans, etc.
A nucleus hive, or "nuc," is a small bee colony with a queen, baby bees, and some worker bees on a few frames. It’s used to start new hives or strengthen weak ones. Nucs offer a healthy, growing bee population that helps hives grow and produce honey faster than other ways like using package bees.
All of our ‘nucs’ come state inspected, with no frame exchange expected. There is an additional $25 charge if you do not bring your own box for the frames.
All colonies will come with an unmarked queen, at least 2 frames of brood and 2 frames of resources. Reservations will be taken on a first come first serve basis, and this ite,
